Our Mission
Helping people make a lifesaving difference through blood products and service excellence.
We promise blood will be available whenever needed.
Hospitals and the patients they care for should be able to depend completely on a blood provider. That’s why we promise blood will always be there when it’s needed—24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We’ve made and kept that promise since 1955. Plus, once we’ve provided for Michigan’s hospitals, we regularly send blood wherever needed in the United States, including to the military.
A healthy community conserves and protects vital natural resources like air and water. We believe the community blood supply should be treated with equal care.

Groups should be able to sponsor blood drives whether or not they have the necessary facilities. Our Blood Bus comes to you, making almost any location a lifesaving location.
We want to make blood donation as easy as possible for you. One of the ways we do this is by offering more than 60 area donor sites across the state in addition to hundreds of mobile blood drives every year.
